Advocates for Health Outdoor AED Unit (Automated External Defibrillator) Information:
Dear Community Members,

I hope this letter finds you well. As a dedicated member of our community, I am reaching out to you on behalf of Shamrock Township with a request that could make a life-saving difference for our residents.

Shamrock Township has recently undergone a transformative redevelopment, creating a vibrant recreational hub for our expanding community. Serving neighboring towns such as McGregor, Palisade, and Tamarack, Shamrock Township has experienced rapid growth, with the 2022 census reporting a population of 1,329 residents.

Among the recent enhancements are a new Veteran’s Memorial, state-of-the-art tennis and pickleball courts, a modern playground, pedestrian-friendly sidewalks, a spacious pavilion, and convenient restroom facilities. Additionally, the park boasts two well-maintained ballfields that host various local teams. These enhancements have significantly elevated the appeal of our community, attracting a growing number of visitors to enjoy the amenities and activities available.

We are embarking on an initiative to install an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) unit on the grounds of Shamrock Township. This device is more than just a piece of equipment; it’s a beacon of hope during critical moments of medical emergency. The AED represents a vital link in our community, providing immediate assistance to those experiencing sudden cardiac arrest.

The importance of having accessible AED units cannot be overstated. With each passing minute during cardiac arrest, the chances of survival diminish significantly. By strategically placing an AED in a stainless steel cabinet with temperature control on our grounds, we ensure rapid access to life-saving treatment, making it available year around, even in outdoor environments where emergencies may occur.

What sets this proposed AED unit apart is its advanced features, including GPS tracking, 911 address integration, and user-friendly instructions with visual aids and audio prompts. Moreover, the unit is equipped with smart monitoring capabilities and a comprehensive maintenance plan to ensure its readiness at all times.

The total cost for the AED unit, including installation is $7,500 with a maintenance cost of $600, per year. However, we understand the financial constraints facing our community, which is why we are seeking support from compassionate individuals and organizations like yours. Your contribution will not only help us acquire this essential device but also sustain its operation for years to come.

Together, we can make a tangible difference in the safety and well-being of Shamrock Township residents as well as residents of surrounding communities and recreational visitors. Your generous donation will not only support our immediate goal of acquiring the AED but also contribute to the long-term health resilience of our community.

We invite you to partner with us in this life-saving endeavor. Your support will be acknowledged publicly, and you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the lives of our neighbors.

To donate or learn more about our initiative, please visit townofshamrock@shamrocktwp.org or contact us directly at 218-426-3736.

Thank you for considering our request. Together, we can make our communities a safer place. – Shamrock Township Board
